Butternut Crunch Candy

A sort of toffee...
Before beginning: Butter a cookie sheet & set aside
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
*Cook together to 285˚ and add 1/2 cup chopped nut.  Pour into prepared cookie sheet.
*Melt 6 oz of chocolate and spread over candy.  Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped nuts.  Cool til firm and break into pieces.
